KENICHI WOODWORKING X MOD CRMX

The Geo Metrics Series is comprised of modern compositions of hexagonal pyramids made of wood and porcelain that are modular, interlocking and fully customizable. David Kenichi Kodama (Kenichi Woodworking) and Liz Heller (ModCRMX) began making art together in January 2018. They share a kindred aesthetic and love of process that has enabled them to create a strong, creative partnership. The enjoyment they derive from working together is directly reflected in the quality of work they produce. They have a passion for creating beautiful and original objects that inspire an innate curiosity and wonder through the use of simple shapes and textures. As a woodworker and a ceramicist, David and Liz make utilitarian objects, however when they work together, they are able to explore materiality and play with form without the constraints that function usually imposes. The combination of wood and porcelain enhances the aesthetic that they pursue individually in our own studios; lux, modern and minimal.
